On February 7, Shi Chao, the general manager of China Superhard Materials Network, and his team visited Zhengzhou Ward Superhard Materials Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Ward Superhard") to conduct on-site research and exchange activities. The purpose of this visit was to gain an in-depth understanding of Ward Superhard's technological innovation, market layout, and future development plans in the field of superhard materials, as well as to discuss industry development trends and cooperation opportunities.
Founded in 2010, Ward Superhard is a high-tech enterprise focused on the research, production, and sales of polycrystalline diamond, cubic boron nitride, and their micro-powders. As a national-level specialized and innovative enterprise and a "gazelle" enterprise in Henan Province, Ward Superhard continues to lead in the niche market of superhard materials, with a leading market share in high-brittleness self-sharpening diamond and a dominant position in the polycrystalline diamond market.
During the research process, Zhou Shijie, the general manager of Ward Superhard, provided a detailed introduction to the company's main products and their application fields. Currently, Ward Superhard's products are widely used in various industries such as automotive, machinery, electronics, aerospace, optical instruments, and photovoltaics, and have shown strong competitiveness in emerging fields such as 3C and SiC semiconductor processing. Zhou Shijie particularly mentioned that the company's independently developed "sponge-like diamond" not only fills a domestic gap but also surpasses similar foreign products in performance, becoming a star product in the grinding and polishing field.
Shi Chao and his team visited Ward Superhard's product exhibition hall, production workshop, and testing laboratory, experiencing the company's development history, innovative atmosphere, and scientific research achievements up close. Zhou Shijie introduced that Ward Superhard always adheres to the concept that "science and technology are the primary productive forces," having obtained 4 invention patents and 38 utility model patents, and established the Functional Engineering Technology Research Center for Synthetic Diamond in Henan Province.
In recent years, Ward Superhard has continuously focused on technological innovation, successfully developing a series of new products such as "high-temperature resistant diamond" and "boron-doped diamond," further enhancing the market competitiveness of its products. In addition, by optimizing production processes and upgrading production equipment, it has achieved efficient production of diamonds and cubic boron nitride, with monthly production capacities reaching 80 million carats and 12 million carats, respectively.
During the discussion, Zhou Shijie shared Ward Superhard's market layout and future plans. He stated that with the completion and production of Ward Superhard's new factory, production capacity will be further expanded, accelerating the exploration of the global high-end superhard materials market. In the future, Ward Superhard will continue to increase R&D investment, deepen industry-university-research cooperation, and expand the application fields of diamonds and cubic boron nitride.
